Dr. Dominique Reill

Dr. Sanary Subrahmanyan currently holds the Irving and Jean Stone Social Sciences chair at UCLA, where he teaches as a distinguished professor. He has authored numerous books, including The Career and Legend of Vasco da Gama (1997), Explorations in Connected History (2004), and Courtly Encounters: Translating Courtliness and Violence in Early Modern Eurasia (2012). He studies the Early Modern Period, his research spanning across Europe and South Asia

Classics Seminar Participant

Dr. Stephanie Dennie

Dr. Stephanie Dennie's is a lecturer in the Classics department. Her research focuses on Sparta and the role of storytelling. Her dissertation, Creating Legitimacy: The Dyarchy in Spartan Social Memory, focused on Tyrtaios’ Eunomia and its relationship to Spartan politics.

History Roundtable Participant

Dr. Timur Mukhamatulin

Dr. Timur Mukhamatulin is currently the Stuart Ramsay Tompkins Visiting Professor in the Department of History, Classics, and Religion. He has co-authored Soviet Sports in Cold War Context (2023). His research focuses on Soviet sports and gender, his dissertation investigated the history of Soviet gymnastics.
